Klar.
Today, I am in a surprisingly good mood, and therefore feel the need to type in this wonderful journal of mine.
There is a good mood for a reason. First of all, Nidhal is unbearably cute and I am forever grateful that I can spend my life with him. Yes, mushy lovey whatever. I really love him. In addition to that, we received two pieces of mail today and BOTH were very good, long-awaited things. Just in time to pay the rent, too. (And good thing because the stupid utilities bill was $103). So I'm happy. We had eggs for breakfast, which is one of Nidhal's favorites. Yesterday we has bsissa, which is a powder made by his mother in Tunisia. The powder is mixed with cold milk or water and with sugar, and it makes a very delicious and nutricious breakfast. The taste isn't like anything I had tasted before. But anyway...
Nidhal's poor friend had an unlooked for and unwanted adventure this morning. He parked his car near campus in Ann Arbor and got out to go to work. But, uh-oh, the keys were still in the car... the locked car. So he tried to call Nidhal, but Nidhal was sleeping and I didn't even hear the phone. He then walked down the street and knocked on a door asking for a wire coat hanger to get into the car. He was successful and he returned to his car. As he was well on his way to opening the car, four, yes, four police cars came to him with the police yelling to drop the coat hanger and put his hands up. He told them that the car was his, but to no avail. After he was checked for weapons, the police checked his ID and, what do you know, the car did indeed belong to him. Nice. Apparently what happened was that the people from whom he borrowed the coat hanger called the police and said that someone was trying to steal a car on that street. Niiiice. Idiots. Stupid. Poor Nidhal's friend. But at least the police helped him open his car after all that.
Last weekend, Nidhal and I visited Tina in Holland, Michigan. It was a very nice visit. ...venison pizza, big ice, chocolate, rain forests, adventures... We got a tour of Holland and were taken to the frozen lake, and on Saturday, we went to Grand Rapids and the Meijer Gardens. My sister lived in Grand Rapids for 10 years and never once took me there. She told me of its existance and pointed it out when we would drive by, but she never ever took me there. And now I have finally seen the inside of the place and it is very interesting. There was an arid room, a carivorous room, a victorian room, and a tropical room. All were very cool. And then we almost got lost in Grand Rapids. All in all, it was a very pleasant weekend, and Tina's family and dog were all entertaining and very nice.
