I am so glad we have air conditioning.
American guy: Could you stamp my passport, please? It's a hobby of mine.
Passport checker to coworker, in German: These damn Americans always want something. Look, they've all got booze and bags and t-shirts. Now they want stamps.
American girl: Sir, I'd like mine stamped, too.
Passport checker, in German: I bet that girl was here to fuck guys. American girls become sluts in Europe.
American girl: Sir, that's not very nice!
Passport checker, still in German: I hate it when they know German. Then we can't talk about them!
Airport, Köln, Germany (Overheardeverywhere.com)
I discovered that thing on that website about a week ago, and I found it quite amusing.
Apparently, I have a new apartment! It's between Ypsi and AA (but with an Ypsi address), and it's nice. The lease starts in late June even though my lease here goes until sometime in August because it was cheaper that way ($70 less per month). I also got a bunch of special deals because work for one of the 'preferred employers' and I saw the apartment on a specific website. AND the first month's rent is free. I ended up getting so much money towards this place that it even carried over to my August rent and made that less than normal. I am not complaining. And it has a pool!
I guess it's kind of nice that my leases overlap for a little bit because then I can move in on my own schedule, without rushing. And I have no furniture at the moment. We will probably be able to hook me up with a bed, but if anyone has any extra furniture that they want to donate, I would be more than happy to take it off your hands.
