How Long?
The voice is a beautiful thing. Listening to a good singer really makes you appreciate the musical beauty of a voice. I know there are some who are adamantly for instrumental music over vocal music and that's fine, but (once again) it boggles my mind to think that these people who are so into music can't see how musical and wonderful the human voice is when lifted up in pure song. In a way, it is infinitely better than music made by instruments because it is so human and so expressive and can be so emotional. In the Lord of the Rings movies when Theodred dies and is buried, Eowyn sings a very beautiful and hauting song, and when Faramir rides to near certain death, Pippen's song captures it perfectly, and when Aragorn is crowned king, his voice and his song enhance the moment, and the list goes on. I don't think any of these moment's would be nearly the same if they just whipped out a trumpet or a flute or a violin and played a melody. It's the voice that makes it special. Pippen's song is against pure silence and the images of Faramir riding into battle. It's pure and human and captures things that instruments couldn't hope to find. The same goes for all the others. But anyway... that's enough of that.
I took a very short nap this afternoon. At one point I was jolted awake by the beginning of Canticum, and then I was officially awoken by someone IMing me.
There is a German exam tomorrow which I am not ready for. Oh well. Whatever happens happens.

The quote from below comes from Gandalf when he says something about the Hobbits once again proving their worth...or something like that.
Perhaps, but not exactly what I was looking for.
I couldn't find the exact quote but it was said by Faramir or Denethor... or mayboe both.
