Lord of the Butt-Chins

Butt-chins (clefts) are a fact of life. Many people have them. A butt-chin is not something to be ashamed of. Butt-chinners unite! Here is a sample of the people who have been blessed with butt-chins.
Ben Affleck
Toby Mac
Josh Hartnett
Hayden Christensen
Peter Furler
Viggo Mortenson
Billy Boyd
Dominic Monaghan
KJ-52
Sandra Bullock
Evan Stone
Ashlee Simpson
Joaquin Phoenix
and more!!!
LOL. Excuse me for using the pathetic expression "LOL" but you should understand when you read on. I'm quoting this from Wikipedia (an encyclopedia on the internet):
"A butt chin is a certain type of chin with a dimple in the center, so that the chin itself resembles a buttock."
It then went on to give a couple examples of celebrities who were commonly known to have butt-chins. Yes, the butt-chin is now officially recognized. Here are some more wonderful butt-chin quotes:
"I know my butt chin is hard to resist but please at least try."
"Is that a butt chin I see in your avatar?"
"And I like John and his butt chin."
"How is it possible that the cheeks of his butt-chin are uneven?"
"Are you refering to a 'butt chin'?"
"The chin! It's horrible to keep saying the child has a butt chin, but it's true!"
"Butt on the chin on the butt chin chin."
"Actually I think the 'butt chin' thing is kinda hot."
"Are you jealous of the butt chin?"
“There're people out in California that pay money to get those little butt chins cut in."
"...and one fierce butt chin."
"Did you know that the butt chin was a sign of royalty long ago?"
"Just thought i'd drop by and see how you and your butt chin were getting along...."
"Can I suck on your butt chin?"
"Simple examples involve individual preference for certain features, such as a butt chin."
"And yeah, his butt-chin rocks."
"It'll sure be nice to see that smirk wiped off your butt-chin."
I gave up reading a chapter in FOTR to find those for you. You are forever in my debt because you know your life wouldn't have been the same without reading those.
...
Swimming was quite enjoyable today. The waves were fun! That was probably my last swim of the season. :( After swimming, Ross and I went to Bay City for some putt-putt and a movie. We saw The Brothers Grimm and Ross didn't like it, but I thought it was ok... nothing wonderful, just ok. Ross has a low tolerance for hunger.
...
I leave for school on Friday. Yes, I do. There's so much to do before then. BethAnne starts classes tomorrow. Hahaha. A lot of people start tomorrow.
...
What gaming system should I get? I'm considering PS2 and XBox, though I'm leaning towards PS2. I checked them out at Walmart today and the PS2s were $150, but the XBoxes didn't have a visible price.

The Fireside Book of Dog Stories

I began watching the Return of the King cast commentary and realized that I had already watched this one too. It was sad because I was looking forward to it, but I still watched it anyway and enjoyed it immensely.

"Pity the poor insomniac dyslexic agnostic. He stays up all night wondering if there really is a dog."

"The Japanese eat little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans. The French eat a lot of fat and also suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans. the Italians drink a lot of red wine and they, too, suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans. Conclusion: Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you."

I stumbled across those jokes and enjoyed them quite a bit, so I thought I'd share them with you.

Mozart's Fantasy in D Minor is very pretty. I like it.

Today I went to a garage sale thing with my mother and I found a bunch of old books, some of which I bought. There was an analytic geometry book from 1935 and a 50 year old organic chemistry book. I might give that chem book to my uncle who is a professor of organic chemistry. There was also a book entitled Opportunities in the Armed Forces which was published in 1942... I thought that was interesting. Another book I bought was from 1943 and it had a little paragraph at the beginning about publishing books during wartime. I also bought a few others from the 20's, 30's, and 40's. On top of all that, I found some old jazz and classical records. I ended up buying a Glenn Miller one and a Doc Severenson one along with a couple others. Then I found Spider-Man 2 on VHS for $2.50. The only bad part of the afternoon was having to deal with my mother's inept driving.

Some people are hopelessly horrible at the 3-word game. Did you misplace your brain?

I got an email from my math 285 prof a couple days ago concerning the textbook for the class. He seems nice so far... as much as one can tell from an email. Anyway, as it turns out, I will have to purchase a new math book. Oh well.

I think I have allergies or something. I've been sneezing a lot lately and my nose has been itching quite a bit.

Scamper is a cute movie. I watched it today and it brought back childhood memories. It's weird to think about, but there was one time when it was my last time seeing that movie (before today). I mean, the last time I sat down and watched that movie could've been the last time in my entire life and I didn't know it. Why did I never watch it after that time? It was my favorite movie. Did I forget about it, misplace it, get tired of it? I was thinking about that with regard to other things... things I used to do all the time and then one day I did it for the last time without even knowing it.

Wander Through

Monday was enjoyable. The car ride was especially interesting with Ben on the floor. And we all know everyone enjoyed when BethAnne fell backwards in her chair.

I beat the first mission thing on Medal of Honor. Yes, I was quite proud of myself. And even cooler... I definitely killed Ben three times and thus won the head to head Medal of Honor round. Then yesterday I beat the second mission in Medal of Honor. Also, I beat the last halfpipe event on a different game, but that wasn't such a big accomplishment. Today I didn't have such luck with Medal of Honor... I died twice in the same mission and then got frustrated and gave up. It was those stupid dogs that kept biting me and attacking me, keeping my focus off the Nazis who were shooting me.

We played some hot XBox yesterday. I believe it was Medal of Honor. Ben, Ryan, Spinelli, and I went against the Japanese. Spinelli was a computer player and he definitely ran around in his underwear. One time I actually killed more times than I was killed. We then watched Return of the King and ate popcorn and brownies.

Then today I sat down to watch The Two Towers cast commentary with distinct suspicions that I had already watched it once. I had vivid memories of me taking my computer up to my room and watching before I went to bed along with other bits and pieces that seemed to be the commentary. Right away when I started it this afternnon, I knew conclusively that I had indeed watched it previously, but being already 5 seconds into it I was committed and had to stick it out for the entire 3.5 hours. Nevertheless, it was entertaining. Some parts were a bit dry, but others were quite interesting.

BethAnne left today. :( That's sad, but perhaps it will inspire her to blog more often. I can't wait to hear how it's going for her. I talked to Vanessa this evening... it's nice to have friends. It seems like Vanessa and I will stay friends for a long time despite distance and not a whole lot of contact. Even though we don't talk frequently, when we do talk it's like nothing has changed.

It's late now. Despite what the blog says was the time I posted this, it was actually around 1 a.m. on the 25th, but I didn't want the post to show up as if I posted it tomorrow... or today. It still feels like the 24th and that's how I want it to show up.

Lousy Hours, Constant Peril

I'm beginning to think that caffeine affects my ability to sleep. In the past I've noticed that if I drank pop during the day then I didn't sleep well, but if I didn't drink pop during the day then I did sleep well. This is rather upsetting.

Yesterday I spent the afternoon with Ben. After playing some Xbox (which I sucked at) and ordering pizza, we watched Blackhawk Down which does have Orlando Bloom in it. I had seen it before, but I enjoyed it more this time.

BethAnne tried to put a white thong on Ryan this evening. Yes, it's true. Ok, so it was a sandal... a flip-flop thing.

Exactly 6 months fron today is my 20th birthday.

As sad as it is, I really don't have much to say right now.

Hotness...
...
I love Aragorn. He is my soulmate.
...
I love this poster. It's on the back of my door right now.
...
The Aragonath... how majestic.

Like Chasing The Wind

BethAnne and I went to Saginaw yesterday. I got to drive and it was wonderful! We saw March of the Penguins and that was cute. I love penguins. During the previews, there was a Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire preview... the same one that I had downloaded a few times and then recorded on my camera. Yes, I was quite excited to see it in a theater. There was also a The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe preview. I want to see that when it comes out.

Trying to figure out an acceptable configuration for our dorm room is a pain in the butt. I think I might've stumbled upon one or two possible solutions, but it's hard to tell.

If you love penguins, you should go to http://www.penguin-place.com/. It is so beautiful that it will bring tears to every penguin-lover's eyes.
...
hahaha, you know math is awesome!
...
Hmm... I like games.

I got out my old Playstation and played it a little this evening. My Medal of Honor and Army Men skills are sadly lacking, but I'm a beast at virtual snowboarding, especially the halfpipe. I didn't do much auto racing... the only racing game I really like is Need For Speed. My thumb is quite sore now.

Life Happens

It's kind of like "shit happens" but instead it's "life happens". I know exactly what I mean by it, but I can't explain it to anyone outside of my head.

I bought some shoes today and I picked out size 8.5 since that's the size I've been for years. Well, after I forcefully shoved my foot into the shoe, I realized they were a bit tight and went for the size 9. Those felt a little tight as well, so I tried a size 9.5... and then I looked at my feet and realized I looked like bigfoot (or perhaps a hobbit) and opted for the size 9. Now, when did my feet get bigger? My last pair of shoes I got was a size 9, but I thought it was just the brand that was weird. All of my shoes before them were always 8.5... ever since jr. high or even before. Why would my feet suddenly grow the summer after my junior year in high school (when I bought my first size 9 pair)? Is that a typical feet growing time? On top of that, my right foot is smaller than my left. It's not shorter but it's thinner or perhaps not as wide.

College is expensive. Shopping for college is quite fun except when you realize how much you just spent on unnecessary things... and then you just feel sick. Trust me, you do not want to know what I bought today and how much it cost. I will tell you though that I picked out my new glasses frames this evening. They're of the Champian brand. I was going to get some slightly bigger frames, but my parents liked the smaller ones better. I'm not sure if I should trust their taste or not, but it's too late now.

A few days ago I ordered the Lord of the Rings Trivial Pursuit game and it came via UPS today. It looks promising.

I've been getting headaches all too often lately. I don't like it one bit! It's either because I'm spending too much time in front of various screens, my contacts are too strong, or I've been putting my contacts in the wrong eyes. Today it was a headache mostly on the right side of my head and behind my right eye, and the pain was augmented when the back of my head touched anything or with certain kinds of motion and diminished when I closed my eyes.

Well, my eyes are begging to be closed for a good 9 to 10 hours now, so I should acquiesce to their request.

A Version of Myself

I watched The Fellowship of the Ring yesterday. I need to watch The Return of the King's cast commentary. I don't know if I've seen the commentary on The Two Towers or not. If not, I'll have to watch it. I've seen FOTR's twice.

Lyne blogged about buying her books for school and so I wanted to find out what books I needed to get. Sadly, I was unable to discover which books were required of me this semester. I think my calc book might be the same as it was last year. Arg, there are going to be so many people out buying books when I move in. Lines are so tedious.

Thousand Foot Krutch's new CD is pretty good. I liked Phenomenon better though. There aren't any stand-out good songs on The Art of Breaking. I guess "Slow Bleed" and "Absolute" are fairly catchy, but not really.

"Sometimes I fall asleep and then I lose control
I try to find my way out without letting go
And will I lose my mind if it comes back this time?
If I don't turn out perfect will you be a friend of mine?"
- TFK, Slow Bleed

Jars of Clay's Redemption Songs is alright. Not my favorite or anything. It's good for what it is, but I don't like their version of "It Is Well With My Soul".

Seventh Day Slumber's new CD Once Upon A Shattered Life is quite good and so is Disciple's new self-titled CD. If you're into music like that, you should check them out. Good stuff.

I have this weird hard bump below my right knee and I've been trying to figure out what it is. So far I haven't had much luck. There's one possible explanation, but I don't know. Well, actually I think I know what it is, but I don't know why it's there when it's not on my left knee too. Anyways...

There are three books that I want to finish reading before I go back to college and one of them was completed today. It's a nice feeling to actually accomplish something.

I love penguins. They're so cute. Speaking of penguins, I never did find my copy of Scamper. That is sad. I'll have to yell at my mother about it. She probably let someone borrow it and never got it back. Grr!

Pumped about the Pumping Pumpers

Pictures do provide much entertainment.
...
I feel the need to update my blog when I have nothing to say.

"We've come to occupy a moral safehouse where everyone's to blame so no one's guilty." - from The West Wing. I like this quote. It's something to think about.

Today's quote comes from Jake Huber: "Stroke my butt!" He was talking about a stroke (the medical condition) not stroke the verb. It's along the same lines as when Vanessa got her IPS test back from Mr. Krohn... he took points off because she had put down "bigger" and it was technically supposed to be "more massive", and so Vanessa said, "More massive my ass!"

We got gas at one of those gas stations where someone pumps for you. I was excited (hence the title). It was only the second time I've seen a place like that.

I am the proud owner of a tennis racket. Yes, it's true. Now we can play tennis again! ...and we definitely need to before the summer is over.

So I'm reading this book and I keep coming across quotes that I want to remember, but it's not my book (it's a friend's) and so I can't mark it up. Then I went back to find them and type them out, but I can't find them now without rereading everything. Arg.
...
Tonight was Hannah's send-off. She's headed to Indiana for three months and then she'll be in Argentina until July. It is sad. However, tonight was entertaining. Some high points included the "orgle" and the "kumquat", though I will go into neither... and I guess they'd be equally high and low points. ;) If you want to know, ask, and I will tell. It's really too... ummm... "insteresting" to expound upon in this public place. Goodbye, Hannah! Come back soon!

The Rare Valid Point

What do you get when you haven't played a trumpet in one year, weren't that good to begin with, and are put in front of music you've never seen with no one else in your section? Yes, that's right, you'd have me yesterday morning... sucking. Actually, it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be and it was fun on top of that.

Afterwards, I got to hang out with Ben AND I got to play Super Mario 64. I haven't played that in years... not since Vanessa beat it. I had totally forgotten about the cute lost baby penguin (which Christen and Dominic made fun of) and the slides and everything. Then we had lunch at Dunleavy's which was followed by an exploration of the world of music and the internet. But then Ben had to go to work, so Lyne and I ventured into the land of Rockapella.

Time sure does fly. I was sitting here playing games and then I looked at the clock and it was almost midnight. Perhaps I will go to bed soon. On the other hand, there are so many games to play and movies to watch and books to read.

Shut your mouth when you're talking to me!

I was watching some world dancing competition last night on PBS. The Germans won. Gotta love those hot Germans. Speaking of German, today in Saginaw at Barnes & Noble I found "The Big Yellow Book of German Verbs" with over 550 fully conjugated German verbs. Heck yeah. Sadly, I didn't buy it. However, I did buy a big book of chords at Herter's... over 1200 chords. That was really expensive (more than $20).

We saw Wedding Crashers and there was a grand total of 6 people in the theater. I'm not sure how I feel about the movie. It was quite funny, but they definitely could have made it a bit "cleaner". Also, I didn't like how they rushed through the finding-out of Jon and Jeremy and then the next year. At times, I was reminded of Meet The Parents and I wish I wouldn't've been. But Owen Wilson is great...

So Saginaw was fun. It's too bad others couldn't go too. When we came back into town, Ryan didn't want to mow the lawn so we went to Ben's house instead of Ryan's. Ben wasn't home, but we had fun with Lyne (and Emily and Christen and Dominic). Then after Ben came home all smelly and dirty and then took a shower, we arm-wrestled. I'm a beast, I beat Dominic. ;)

OOH! I got new sandals! I splurged a little... $10 for Reebok sandals at Sears. Yeah, it's a little more than my usual $3 Walmart sandals, but it was needed. They're really light compared to my other sandals. I like them! Also, I backed into my parking space at the mall. It was intense and done fairly well.

As far as I am aware, that is all I have to say.

Neboochiez is a Doughnut Whore

Steph had a baby shower yesterday in Big Rapids. It was nice. I don't know, there's not much to say about it... it was a baby shower.

Last night I went over to Ben's and we bonfired it up. Ryan showed up later and everyone was MIA, but it was still a wonderful time. I couldn't find Bob the Star-Wolf though and that was sad.

Church this morning was quite enjoyable. After Ross and I tied in an intense hymnal race, we went to class and Ben had so graciously bought doughnuts for us all. We then played Bible Trivial Pursuit and I am happy to say that my team (Ben, Ross, and I) won. The clincher question was "where was Jesus crucified" and, yeah, it was definitely Golgotha. Joel entertained us with his rendition of "Nebuchadnezzer" (an estimated reproduction of his rendition is located in the title) and we didn't leave the classroom in time to catch the sermon.

After church, Ben, Joel, Alecia, and I went to Tawas for some Chinese. Alecia managed to have her water spilled all over her, Ben and Joel ate a very hot pepper, and Joel said something which I mistakenly thought was "doughnut whore". Afterwards, we went to Walmart and randomly saw Mrs. Gordon. Ben thought that would be a good time to ask her if I could play in jazz band with them Wednesday and she didn't mind at all. The jazz band thing was completely Ben's (and maybe Ryan's) idea, by the way. Ryan's pictures were not in and so I bought gasoline for 10 cents cheaper than at home.

Today was my last day at work. Yay! It was happy, but I kept thinking, "this is the last time I'll be doing *insert task here*". I'm done though.

Goodnight, all.

More of the Same

Work was boring today. I spent an hour cutting up onions and green peppers. Fun. At least there's only 2 more days of it. It's really not that bad though, and I would recommend the place to my friends for employment. They do hire guys there and Jon is living proof of that.

My kittens are cute. See for yourself...

Clockwise starting from the top black one: Blackie, Snowball, Callie, Obi-Wan, Coal, Daisy, Anakin, and Ares.

...

On the piano, I can play the guitar music where it just gives you the names of the chords. I'm glad I discovered that I can do that. It's easier for me than playing it on the guitar and it opens up some options for the future. You see, I had the opportunity to try-out to be in a certain band last semester at college, but I had never played music on the piano with just the chord names to go off of and so I chickened out and didn't try-out. Now if that spot or another happens to open up, I will be able to go for it.

I'm pretty much obsessed with pictures. It's official. I'm on cloud 9 now that I can post them easily in my blog and on the forums. What is cloud 9 anyway?

Moving day is 9/2. Yes, I think that I move back into South Quad on Friday, September 2. I'm excited in a weird way... too hard to explain. I had a dream about buying my books and that was really weird. There was an evil villian in the dream.

Fifteen. I knew I had something that I wanted to write about, but all I could remember of it was "15". So I paced the house thinking "15, 15, what could 15 possibly mean?" And then it hit me. Fifteen years old. A girl came into Kelly's today when I was working the till and, as she was leaving, she said to the old man she was with, "Of course I'd eat three! I'm 15, I'm a growing girl." First I thought, "Ha ha, I'm older than you!" Then I thought, "Oh my gosh, I'm 4 years older than her... and she's 15 years old! I'm old!" And then I realized that if she was 15, then odss are she was born in 1990. 1990! That seems so young, being born in the 90's! Wow. Then I started thinking about how that the 80's are to the kid's born in the 90's like the 70's were to me. Ah, I feel so very old.

Who you are defines my dreams...

A few days ago at work, a guy who was presumably homeless came in and asked if he could work for food. After refusing him and sending him away, the two to three other people working there just gawked at him. They said how horrible it was but did nothing to help him. They didn't want him on the bench out front and so they sent him to the back. When children in the store were leaving, they would escort the kids out because they were afraid of the man who had just walked from Tawas or farther and who was digging through the garbage cans. Granted he probably wasn't the most wholesome person, but they went so out of their way to make him unwelcome when it would've been so easy to buy him a bag of chips or offer him a breadstick from the pizza warmer. And I did nothing. I now kick myself for standing by and watching when I could have so easily taken the $5 out of my pocket and gotten the guy some food. Soon he walked away down US-23 again. I wonder who he was.

There is a really loud night bug outside my window.

Yesterday as I was driving to work, I passed Isaiah playing basketball and I honked at him. He waved. It was a nice exchange. Then at work, this guy came in and said to me, "what, do you work 24/7 or something?" I don't remember my verbal reply but I remember what I was thinking: 'might as well be' and 'at least someone is noticing that I'm always at this dumb place'. I felt vindicated.

I miss the old days... not necessarily high school but the times that came with high school. Everything is nuts anymore and it's upsetting. But I talked to Leslie on the internet tonight and that was nice.

Some French guy keeps talking to me on MSN. It's another case of me being mistaken for someone else and it seems like everytime it's someone who is French or speaks French.

Das Ende.

No Bounds

Last night we had a bonfire. There were only five of us (Ben, Ryan, Alecia, Joel, and me), but it was still a good time. I found a wolf in the stars and named him Bob. He was drinking out of a puddle and later I found a whole pack of wolves in the stars. While I was looking at my wolves, I saw a shooting star.

After the bonfire, Ryan and I went to Ben's and ate peanut butter cookies made by Lyne. Ben showed us how to do picture stuff. Ben is my hero!

Does anyone know why it takes me hours to fall asleep at night? The night before last it took me 1.5 hours to fall asleep and last night it took me 3 hours. It was after 4 a.m. before I finally drifted off into the wonderful world of sleep.

Well, now... what to say? Ryan got me a camp shirt and I am very grateful that he did. So often people say they will do something and then don't... simply empty words and meaningless phrases. I wish people would be real. Many times I am bluntly honest and I do apologize for the way that it sometimes comes out, but I'm not sorry for saying it.

Yeah, that's us in Columbus. Fun times.

I got my football tickets in the mail today. There are seven of them. It's exciting. The first game is on September 3rd... and that makes me wonder when I'll be moving down. my first day of classes is September 6th and so it wouldn't surprise me if I was scheduled to move down on the 1st or 2nd.
