Chocolate

On Friday, Nidhal and I cleaned the apartment for the first time in a while. It took the whole day, but it's nice to have a nice and clean apartment to live in again. Saturday, we went to Canada. ...Just Windsor, but Nidhal loved it. And not surprisingly, it took us 10 minutes to get into Canada and over an hour to get back into the US.

I hardly did any homework this weekend. For one class, I read about two chapters (out of 5 chapters and various articles). And, yes, that was all I did. I currently have three papers to write (two due on Saturday and one due in a little over a week), an exam on Tuesday, and another exam the next week. FUN!

Today, I had to do an observation in Ypsilanti High School. It was the first time that I had been in a high school in four years, I think. I have another observation tomorrow in an Elementary School.

Nidhal and I apparently go to Meijer when we need to get out of the apartment. I was in Meijer on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. (But I didn't buy anything on Sunday or Tuesday).

You're so tenseless, you could be a modal.

This program (at EMU) has a way of taking things that I have been interested in and making them unbelievably dry and boring and painful to read about.

On Thursday, I had a paper due and an exam. I think I got through the paper ok. The exam wasn't too bad, but the problem was that I knew the information from the book but I wasn't sure what she wanted to hear on the test. Yes, she is one of those teachers. But it should be ok. And now I am incredibly behind on all of my reading because of 1) the conference, 2) paper 1, 3) the exam, 4) paper 2, and 5) paper 3.

Bing.com sucks. You've seen the commercials, I'm sure. I was looking for something on the internet through Google and I could not find it, so I decided to give this new search a try. Well, it sucks. At least Google gave me stuff that actually had something to do with my search topic.

Busy Busy Busy Weekend

A comment on Facebook after last Saturday's fiasco:
Dearest MSU fans, Michigan's football record against MSU is 67-29-5. By all means, rejoice over your first two-year streak since 1967! Then realize that you won't see half as many wins against us as we have against you in your natural lifetime. Ponder that.

I'm currently enjoying a tuna sandwich with cheddar cheese, tomatoes, hot sauce, and miracle whip. It is delicious.

I have so much to do for this week... an exam, 3 papers, 2 observations, and a ton ton ton of reading. And I thought writing this would be a good way to procrastinate.

On Friday, Nidhal and I headed to Grand Rapids so I could go to the MITESOL conference. The weather was awful on the way there... very rainy and wet. But we got there and the conference was ok. Between the conference, hotel, gas, and food, we spent well over $200. Plus, I lost two whole days of potential homeworking. Was it worth the ten extra-credit points? I don't know. The conference itself wasn't overly interesting, but I think the experience was valuable.

In Grand Rapids, they had just had a huge art competition. The winner got a $250,000 prize. Some of the art we saw included a floating Loch Ness monster in the Grand River, a huge table and chairs on top of a pedestrian bridge, screens with little videos of laughing babies, and various smaller sculptures.

My apartment is disastrously messy. Maybe I'll use cleaning/picking-up as an excuse to not do my homework... hmm...

We met my parents yesterday in Birch Run. ...That was nice. There was no shopping, but a free lunch was included.

And how can it be that four different things that I want to watch are on in the 8pm hour on Mondays? Two of which can not be found on the internet and the other two are iffy. WHY???

Ahhh... CHOOO!

I seem to have caught a cold of some sort. Either that or allergies... it's hard to tell. My first instinct was that it was a cold, but now I'm not so sure. It's not a pleasant time, but at least Nidhal will now do everything I ask (bring me a blanket, get me some juice, etc). :)

There's nothing new to say about my classes. ...Fairly standard. I have a paper due tomorrow, but I shouldn't have much trouble cranking out those five pages in one to two hours. And then there's the never ending reading. Yuck. Ok, I don't want to think about my classes anymore.

Nidhal and I went out to BTB last night for a chimichanga and some chips and salsa. It was quite nice to get out of the apartment and do something "special".

I need an antihistamine.
