Happy Birthday, Hubbi!

Nidhal's birthday was yesterday. It was a nice day. I went to work, and while there, I bought three presents for him. He wasn't expecting anything, so I wrapped them there and created a little game for him. When I got home, I hid two of them and gave him one with a little poem and puzzle attached so he could find the next one. He thoroughly enjoyed this, and it was so fun to watch him search the apartment before he figured out the clues because he was so exited. Of course his searching was fruitless, because I hid one in the mailbox and one in the car trunk. After a bit, we went to Palm Palace (formerly Charlie's Mediterranean Grill, formerly La Shish). Nidhal got lamb chops and they definitely lived up to the description in the menu: melt in your mouth.

Independence Day weekend was great. I didn't get to see any friends (Vanessa, Lyne, Ross, etc.), but there was so much going on that we hardly had a free moment in Au Gres. We got there Friday evening around 7pm, I guess. We made good time for stopping in Brighton. On Saturday, we left early to go to Alpena, where my sister and her family are. We all sat in the sun watching the parade, and I certainly got sunburned (I had brought sunblock but left it in my sister's house). My niece's loud-mouth aunt (a.k.a. me) got her plenty of candy. Afterward, we grilled lamb, t-bone steaks, and shrimp, and Dan fixed up the car radio. In the afternoon, Dan and Nidhal enjoyed some kayaking (Nidhal couldn't stop talking about it) and the rest of us were entertained by Anna. We finished off the day with some Putt Putt and Dairy Queen. It was Nidhal's first time with Putt Putt (or any golf at all), and we all had fun watching him attempt it. On Sunday, we celebrated Nidhal's birthday with my parents. ...And then we spent three hours driving home in the awful traffic.

My computer is fixed! I'm using it right now. You don't even know how great it is to have it back. We've named it Harry (because it's an HP and the H can stand for Harry), and we named Nidhal's Tasha/Tushy/Tashu (it's a Toshiba). It was originally Tasha, but Nidhal didn't like that it was a girly name. So he called it Tushy, but then I informed him that that meant 'butt'. So he changed it to Tashu. But anyway...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NIDHAL!
