Déjà Vu
How stupid are some people? Seriously. I was in my Language and Religion class, and the girl in front of me was playing on Facebook the entire time. At one point, she took the "Could You Pass the U.S. Citizenship Test?" test. Watching her answers, I almost burst out laughing during the lecture. Here are the ones I remember:
- the Constitution was written in 1776
- the First Amendment guarantees the right to happiness
- there are 3 Supreme Court justices total
- there are only 10 amendments to the Constitution
- the president has the power to declare war
I about died. The test can be taken here: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/13442226/. I got 85% correct.
Besides learning how stupid the girl in front of me was, I also learned some other useful facts in that class. One was that Madonna went to UM for one year, but she is not an alumnus. Another one is that dissertations in Europe previously had to be done in Latin.
And another lovely quote from today: Schwitzer Deutsch ist keine Sprache, es ist eine Halskrankheit. "Swiss-German isn't a language, it's a throat disease."
I've been experiencing a lot of déjà vu lately.
