My Foot Itches

All of the stupid TV shows are just copies of another good one. It's annoying. I think the main category that has kept copycats to a minimum has been from the medical angle. First there was ER. Then came Scrubs. Now there is Grey's Anatomy. Scrubs and the other two are easily differentiated because Scrubs is a comedy and the others aren't. ER and Grey's Anatomy are different in that GA centers mostly around the relationships between the doctors whereas ER is more fast paced and develops the patients and their situations more fully. GA has a distinctly different feel.

Original: CSI
Copies: NCIS, Crossing Jordon, Numbers (to an extent), Cold Case, not to mention the two spin-offs

Original: Without A Trace
Copy: Kidnapped (it's new), Vanished (I think it's new)

Original: The West Wing
Copy: Commander in Chief (that one about the woman president who wore too much red lipstick)

Original: American Idol
Copies: Star Search, America's Got Talent, Star Tomorrow

Original: some reality show (Survivor, The Bachelor, Big Brother, etc)
Copy: every stupid reality show out there.

And I'm sure the list could continue. But I guess that's just the way it is.

I've been watching much JAG recently. It's refreshing to see it again after such a long time away from it. I missed Harm. Season two comes out in November. :)

Ben downloaded Sanctuary by Frank Ticheli for me today. I'm incredibly thankful. This version was conducted by H Robert Reynolds, retired UM director of bands (among other things) of 26 years. When I saw his name, I recognized it almost immediately as somehow relating to UM. This recording, however, was made at USC... it's not UM but I can deal with it.

It's Jenny's birthday today! Happy birthday, Jenny! (She's my friend from college and Winter 2006 roommate).

I keep getting credit card offers, but I definitely do not want another credit card. One is enough and I have 2-ish (my Visa and my debit card that can also be used as a credit card).

Ok, that's enough.
