Another Year
I'm pleased to say that I had a very nice birthday. Flowers were delivered in the morning, work was good and involved many "happy birthday"s, the hubbers took me out for dinner (which was half off with a free dessert), and I got a free mini cupcake, a free ice cream, and a free gelato. Not a bad haul. There was no cake on my birthday, but I did have some ice cream, gelato, creme brulee, and brownies. And the cake came the next day, bright and early. All in all, it was a pretty nice way to get a year older.
One of the tell-tale signs of pregnancy is the big belly. Sometimes mine feels extraordinarily large, but other times I don't even notice it. It is definitely getting bigger though. The first indication of the growing belly was having to give up many of my jeans. Then, I had to put away my work pants for a while. Then, it was my button-up shirts for work. And now, it's my winter coat. The inner layer still fits (apparently it's somewhat stretchy), but the outer layer is getting uncomfortably tight. So today, I wore my wonderful husband's jacket, and I was surprised to see just how much I filled out that coat. And there are still weeks to go!
Ok, Netflix is annoying me again. First of all, I hate it that there is basically no way to give them feedback. You can either post on their Facebook page (which I don't want to do because I don't need the world seeing that I'm complaining about something) or you can call/chat with customer support. Now, if I have an issue with the interface or the pricing, is this a problem for the customer support people? I guess maybe, but also maybe not. Well, Netflix screwed with my instant queue and messed it all up. I don't want to see pictures of the DVD covers listed in the order that I added them to my queue, I want to see the names and genres and ratings listed in the order in which I arranged them because that order makes sense to me. I had them listed by genre (which is an option in this new things), but I also had them ordered within the genre (for example, by language in the foreign language section), and I had the genres in a specific order (action and thrillers first, foreign language next, documentaries last, etc). Now, Netflix, why must you always go and mess up a good thing? Haven't you heard that if it's not broken, don't fix it? At least the customer support guy was nice.
Whatever happened to Saturday morning cartoons? I was up early on a Saturday and I thought I'd watch some cartoons. But there were none. There were just the ones on PBS (rather boring) and then on one other channel. I used to watch cartoons on ABC all morning long, but there was only news on ABC. Where did the cartoons go? Let's check Wikipedia. After some Wikipedia research, it appears that they have indeed disappeared. Strange.
