Greetings From Petra

I have two unposted drafts for this blog, but both are rather lame. Bah. So here are some random thoughts:

1. Eragon is a terrible movie. I thought it would be ok since I haven't read the book, but it is just horribly bad.
2. Avatar: The Last Airbender series is great. I watched all three seasons over a one- to two-week period. Zuko and Appa are my favorite characters. The movie version is bad and the kid who plays Aang in the movie is a really bad actor.
3. I saw a really cool bolt of cloud to cloud lightning a few days ago.
4. It's 1:30 a.m. and it's cold outside (and I'm listening to Christmas music while I type).
5. I'm currently reading The Secret Garden. I had the book when I was a kid, but I always preferred looking at the cover to actually reading it.
6. I want to type more, but I need to research the prices of Nidhal's textbooks for the coming semester.
7. My postcard collection has been expanded by one. I now have a postcard from Jordan
8. We had dinner with some friends tonight, and they made a dish called Oozi. It's either from Jordan or from Palestine, and it was delicious. I need to learn how to make it.

Has anyone ever grilled peaches? Did you eat it with sweet stuff or something else? Was it good?

New Website!

Should I complain more about our car? At least it's still running, right? That is, it's only still running because we changed the battery...

Nidhal wants a thermos. What a strange thing to want! I wonder if he would accept it as an anniversary gift... yeah, probably not.

Foodgawker.com is a great website! I love looking at the pictures and then reading the recipes/blog posts behind the pictures. It's basically like tastespotting, which I had heard of before, but somehow, foodgawker is just soooooo much better. Lately, my late nights have been spent browsing through this website.

I love the library. I'm undecided about whether to keep Netflix. Ever since their idiocy, I've been very much less enthusiastic about getting out DVD in the mail. The library is great. They don't have everything that Netflix has, but they also have some things that Netflix doesn't have.

Leslie is married. Congratulations, Leslie and Daniel! It was a beautiful wedding.

I want to live in Switzerland. I want to visit Switzerland.
