Graduated
For the first time in 17 years, I am not a student. Weird. The graduation ceremony was really nice. It took over an hour for all of the graduates to walk in. I was lucky and got put in the 3rd row. It feels weird. I am without a purpose. What to do?
Bank Fees are like Financial Wedgies
So I'm done. My last exam of my senior year was Friday morning. French 8-10. I think I did fairly well on the written portion at least. The listening part was on Tuesday from 12-1, and that was not good at all. I also had the Bilingualism exam on Tuesday from 1-2:30 and my Dinosaurs exam from 4-5. Then on Wednesday when there wasn't supposed to be any exams at all, I had my Semantics exam from 8:30-10 in the morning. I had to leave around 7:30am for my French exam. I don't think I've ever been up and about that early here at UM.
On Saturday, Nidhal and I went to Philadelphia to visit his cousin, Saber. (Nidhal is here, by the way). Both Nidhal's cousin and his girlfriend (from South Africa) are quite nice/funny/entertaining. Saber drive us to New York City on Sunday, and then on Monday, Nidhal and I went to Washington DC. Tuesday night, Saber took us to Atlantic City and we got to watch him play blackjack. Nidhal saw the ocean up close for the first time ever. The drives were mostly ok, although we got a bit lost once in Philadelphia, once near Washington DC, and once in New York City. All in all, a wonderful trip.

AHH!
Exams! And yet I'm sitting here writing this (while watching TV). Hmm. I should probably study some more now.
Little People Big World is fun. Yup. Um... yes. That is all. I am going to study. Exams. Ugh.
Lächeln
I have to go to class soon.
I hear Hanson. I miss Hanson.
Exams are coming. I have three on Tuesday, one on Wednesday, and one on Friday. That should be fun. I don't have an exam in one of my classes, but the exam for French is divided into two parts... so it's almost like I have two French exams. Blech.
I need to go in a few minutes. German. I think we're going to watch some documentary about East Germany.
Busy. Exams. Graduation. My car is not good. Aber ich lächele.
Those Poor Dinosaurs
I have a class about dinosaurs, and today we learned about why they became extinct. I always thought (and was taught) that there were a ton of different theories and that no one really knew why. Apparently, they really think they know why, and the reason was a 10 kilometer wide meteor that struck the earth on the north corner of the Yukatan Peninsula. The impact was bigger than a 10 (on the Richter scale) earthquake, caused tsunamis, forest fires, and spread debris into the atmosphere. And the poor dinosaurs died. On one of the lecture slides, there was a picture of some dinosaurs looking nervously up at the sky as meteorites flew through the sky. They looked scared, and I felt sorry for them. They had no idea what was coming. And about global warming, there is definite evidence that it is true. Global climate change, global warming... same thing. Maybe it's not true, but don't scoff at it in your ignorant certainty. I've been given the impression that global warming is a politically left thing and that the environment in general is a 'left' issue. Is that true? If so, why?I am currently uploading videos on Facebook of my trips. They are short videos (my camera would only allow videos up to 30 seconds), but I think they are nice, little memories that would have been otherwise forgotten.
I hear a train.
Over a week? That just won't due! But I do have an excuse. A long and excruciating paper was due on Friday. So that would be my reason. But it's done now. Good good good....The weather is nice today. But I'm really tired because allergies kept me from falling asleep last night and then I had to get up at 8. Yesterday morning I was scared out of my nice sleep by a phone call. And I am tired.Harry Potter und der Feuerkelch (the fourth one) is coming along nicely. I like reading. There has been graduation drama, in that the auditors are telling me that I haven't fulfilled my linguistics requirement and the linguistics department hasn't been responding to my emails. Hopefully, that was taken care of today.I still have a $50 gift certificate to Borders, but I don't know what to buy. Everything is more expensive in Borders (and in stores in general, perhaps) than on the Internet. Any book suggestions? And I am now going to read more of my book.
